Green's father Isaac Barton was born in SC, August 31, 1799. His family were in Blount Co, AL in 1818. He met Nancy Snow, born in GA in March 17, 1802. They were married November 27, 1819.

The 1830 Jefferson Co, AL census list the Bartons and Hughes. By 1840 the Bartons were in Yalobusha Co, MS. The Hughes came later. Green Barton and Sarah Hughes taught school at Banner. Green and Rhoda lived near Sarepta. This is where Frank and Sallie and Bill were born.

About 1856-57 the Bartons, Isaac, Jermia, John C. Green, Hendrix, Samuel G., Avery, Tempy, and Margaret, with the exception of Eliah, left for Texas. John C. dropped off in Arkansas. Other Miss. families to come to Texas were Harrison Crocker.

They settled on North Cedar Creek, six miles north of Apple Springs in Trinity Co. Their post office was Sumpter.

Green enlisted twice in the C.S.A. Both times he was stationed at Camp Shilo, Houston County. He served as a wagon maker. Eli and Tobe were born here. Green taught school and singing school. Isaac died November 23, 1865, Nancy died February 8, 1868. They are buried in New Church Cemetary, Trinity Co.

About 1868 Green and family moved to a farm near Many, LA. Curt was born here. Sally, Frank, and Bill married here.

By 1880, Green, Rhoda, Frank, and Bill and families were near Melrose, Nacadoches Co, TX. The June 1880 census list all of them there. Soon after this Green and Rhoda moved to Henderson Co, near Green's brother, Jeriah and his sister Tempy Barton Hatton.

Frank and Bill's wives died and are buried at Melrose. After their wives deaths, they joined their father and mother. Green and Rhoda are buried at Leagueville.
William Green Barton was a wagon maker & farmer. He was a Baptist.
