Mt. Moriah Baptist Church celebrated its' sesquicentennial year on October 9, 1994, with an all day event. Some of the original church minutes were on display, 1886-1892, and 1908-1926, from which Mary Chrestman compiled a historic chronology of church business. Lora Cook gave a capsule of the church history. "It was a great day!!," said Mary Chrestman. People were there from Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Michagan. Mary said the church was packed, the food was delicious, and the fellowship was warm.
