Sarah's grandmother Cambell married (2) Mr. Jones. She weighed 330 pounds and wore a size 3 shoe. She would sit in her rocking chair and fuss at her small feet because they would not hold her up.

Sarah was from a large family, there were 13 boys and 3 girls-2 sets of twin boys. Her father was a great hunter and hunted the Mississippi River bottoms for deer, bear, and turkey.

Two boys were gathering persimmons when the tree fell, killing one instantly. Their mother was sick in bed but got up and lifted the tree from the one living and carried him home in her apron. He only lived a few days.

Seven boys and 2 girls lived to be grown:
Albert was killed in the Civil War, leaving his wife and son, Johnnie
Rujo married late in life, had one girl that died at grandma's house
Dave served in the Civil War. Went to Arkansas, married and had four girls. Mother and 4 girls died. Came back to Mississippi and married, had three boys.

Paul never left Mississippi. He had 3 children, Hiram Monroe, Frances, and ??.
