Moses Emanuel left Mississippi in January 1881 and went to Arkansas and stayed three years. January 1, 1884 he came to Texas. He and Mary Ann Heallon Ward were married at West Point, Texas in the Methodist church. A large crowd attended the wedding. Modie was a rent farmer, some of the places he farmed were Carl and Creedmore one year each, two years at Black Springs, Fayette County. Were at Colony when Ray died. Moved near Gonzales on Rightsborrow road for one year, moved to Sandy Fork, south of Waelder on Jack Parr's place. From there they moved to Jeddo. Mary Ann died after suffering for six months with cancer of the breast. Modie made his home with the children after her death. He died at Rosie's house in Houston, Texas.
